  • Step 1. Student or Academic Membership


  • Student Membership of the Council will be open to any student of sustainability or steel design/fabrication/manufacturing/engineering/processing in some form at a recognised tertiary or secondary education institution located in New Zealand. Student Membership is available for a two year period and can be renewed.

    Academic Membership of the Council will be open to any teacher, tutor or Kaiako of sustainability or steel design/fabrication/manufacturing/engineering/processing in some form at a recognised tertiary or secondary education institution located in New Zealand.
  • Step 2. Affiliate Organisation


    Those individuals /companies that are not paid up members of Metals member organisations can apply for EXECUTIVE or CHARTERED membership. Those who are paid up members to the Metals member organisations are entitled to membership of the Sustainable Steel Council by virtue of their paid membership in:
  • metals organisations
  • Step 3. Organisation Annual Turnover


  • Step 4. Membership Type


  • Executive Members of the Council must pay the full Executive Membership fee and be currently certified to the Sustainable Steel Charter.

    Chartered Members of the Council must pay the full Chartered Membership fee and be currently certified to the Sustainable Steel Charter.

    Executive Members and Chartered Members are regarded as financial members for the purpose of voting at General Meetings (section 14).

    Introductory Members of the Council must pay the Introductory Membership fee and intend to be certified to the Sustainable Steel Charter within one year of first joining as an Introductory Member. Introductory Membership is only available for a one year period and cannot be renewed.
